Moms Are a Marketing Powerhouse

Monday June 1, 2009

Moms have muscle in the marketplace. The "Mommy Market" is worth at least $1.6 trillion to American brands.

Marketers have another reason to take the value of moms and their opinions seriously. Nielsen Online's research shows one out of five people online is a "Power Mom" running her home and raising her children.

Power Moms are proving we're more than just consumers. >We're a major driving force that finds new ways to save money and networks to recommend products to other moms. Whether companies want to persuade moms to buy their brands or become the next hot topic on a mommy blog, moms are helping shape the Internet and the companies who want to profit from us.

Do you think marketers understand how much influence moms have on buying decisions or do they just dismiss us?
