Nestle Targets Moms on Twitter
Nestle's online ads for Juicy Juice are targeting moms using Twitter. The campaign is being tested on mom-related websites for a month.
The display ads prompt moms to share their views on everything from stimulating a child's mind to the importance of vitamin-enhanced foods. Moms type their answers directly into the ad, which makes this campaign different from other businesses trying to capitalize on Twitter's popularity. Companies such as Skittles and TurboTax have also used Twitter for their ads but they didn't allow this type of user interaction.
It's no secret moms are a marketing powerhouse with Power Moms representing one in five people online. Since Twitter doesn't post banners and pop-ups, companies are having to get creative to reach the thousands of moms tweeting family updates or using Twitter to connect with other moms like myself (@SAHMguide).
Are you a mom using Twitter? Why or why not?

I am so over Twitter and Facebook and My Space. Don’t people have anything better to do than be online or on ther cell phones all day? I work for a living, and I am not so fixated on electronic gadgets that I have to be connected all the time. Who cares what everyone else is doing? Poeple need to get a life!
As a teacher, I have to unwind when I get home. I block off time to catch up with my friends and family on Twitter.
I do make it a part of my day. I enjoy my Twitter time. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I have met fantastic moms on Twitter. I agree that some people let social networking rule their entire day. I do not.
