Play restaurant with your family. Before the big day, come up with a plan to get the kids excited. Name your restaurant, decide which restaurant roles your kids will take and make menus for your meal.

As your guests arrive on Thanksgiving, everyone can slip into their restaurant jobs. It's a great way to keep kids entertained with imaginative play and out of the kitchen as you finish up meal prep. They can play waiter or waitress, restaurant manager, hostess and busboy or busgirl.

As the meal winds down, they can even present the check to your diners. Of course, they shouldn't pay but don't be surprised if your kids get a few tips for their piggy banks!
