Keeping Your Family Healthy During Flu Season

By January 14, 2013

Follow me on:

As I write this, my 2 year old is resting next to me experiencing many of the flu symptoms we've all been hearing about in the news. It isn't surprising since this Centers for Disease Control graphic shows my state's color is at the top of the chart for flu outbreaks.

Of course, I'm especially concerned since 20 children have died this flu season. And with a 6 year old in the house, we're doing everything we can to keep the kids from sharing germs.

My husband and I are also doing our best to keep from getting sick because everyone knows the house doesn't stop running just because Mommy or Daddy doesn't feel well. Nothing's foolproof, of course, (other than evacuating the house!) but we'll take all of the precautions we can so we don't end up passing germs back and forth.

If you can't tell if your child has a cold or the flu, this flu guide can help you narrow down the symptoms, learn about treatments and even help you keep the kids entertained while they recover. Hopefully, your children won't get the flu but if they do, you'll have everything you need to help keep them comfortable and get them back on their feet faster.
