Finding the Right Balance of Activities for Your Kids

By January 29, 2013

Follow me on:

My older son would rather jump, run or do anything that requires his muscles -- tennis, soccer, T-ball. My younger son is all about flexing his creative muscles -- painting, coloring, sculpting.

Finding a balance of activities for them is always a challenge. One is constantly scribbling on the outside of the house while the other is swinging his tennis racquet in the house.

Our days include a mix of activities for them both. I have my go-to list of creative activities that my little athlete will actually sit still for and then we head outside to burn off energy with physical activities that get my future artiste to put his paintbrush down.

While that balances their personal interests, I also make sure they get in a good dose of everything from fun learning activities to musical activities to expose them to new experiences. And these activities are a great way to fill the day when you're their teacher, entertainment director, coach and muse too!
