Discover Life Sounds
Record Life Sounds for Hours of Entertainment and Learning Together

Capture life sounds to explore audio with your children

Life sounds can be everything from farm animal noises to a car starting.

Using a tape recorder, help your child record various life sounds -- her own voice, zoo animals playing, crowd noise at the mall, a mailbox closing.

After you're finished recording, preschoolers can listen to the tape as you remind them what made each sound. They'll love the repetition of listening to the life sounds you recorded together and will soon start telling you what they are without being asked.

For grade schoolers, quiz each other with a guessing game. Randomly fast forward and rewind the tape to listen to the sounds out of the order you recorded them in. Do you remember what made that sound? See if you and your child can stump each other.

The best part is, this game never gets boring. Make new recordings together to discover even more life sounds.

Best for ages: 3-9
