Most Rewarding Part of Being a SAHM:

The magical moments: from his 'firsts' to his ritual morning gummy grin to watching him experience something new for the first time and knowing I created him, nurture him and teach him. But really, it all comes down to being able to be there - in the moment - and be the person who reads to/comforts/sings with/bathes with/smiles with/walks with/explores with him. Knowing that I am all he needs. Being a Mum is phenomenal.

Biggest Challenge You Face as a SAHM:

I lost my first pregnancy. Add to that suffered from anxiety in general and my pregnancy and early weeks of my son's life were hard. There's no two ways about it. I also suffer from postnatal depression and anxiety attacks (although I haven't had an anxiety attack since he was 2 weeks old) which is just something I never considered. It all centres around my fear of losing him, mother guilt and my value as a mum in general.

Best Advice for Other Stay-at-Home Moms:

Learn to release expectations. Be in the moment. Cherish the beauty of everyday life - from your babies wet eyelashes in the bath to their dimpled knuckles. Accept the trying times for what they are but relish in the magical ones.
