Spring is an energetic time of year. You see it all around you with birds building nests and flowers blooming.

For kids who've missed sunshine and short sleeves, the change of seasons is a welcome return to outdoor playtime and projects. What springtime activities re-energize your kids? Share Your Favorites

Walk, bike, or scooter to school

We love it when we can finally take our bikes and scooters out of storage and use them to get to and from school or to run errands.

Plant the garden

We have long, cold, snowy winters where I live, so the kids and I love planting our veggie garden in the spring. Each girl gets her own raised bed (about 2' by 2') to plant what she wants. I wish I could say having a garden makes them more willing to eat their vegetables (it doesn't), but at least they're learning where food comes from. Maybe one day they won't spit out the tomatoes.
